Use of the photograph collection
Charges
There is a $5 daily fee for nonmembers who use the library; no charge for NHA
members.
Restrictions
Researchers are required to place all personal possessions, coats, and bags in
the lockers available. Please use pencil, and no food or drink is allowed in the
library or the gallery.
Research
Assistance
Library personnel are available at the Research Library to
assist you in locating the resources you need. NHA members and paying researchers
are entitled to a half hour (cumulative) of free staff time per day. Beyond that
time, research assistance is available, by special arrangement, at an additional
fee; NHA members receive a 10% discount off the hourly rate of $20.
Permission to Cite from Manuscripts
Permission to cite from the primary
source materials held in our collections may be applied for by completing our
permission form
(PDF file).
Service
from a Distance
Reference assistance is available through email.
Ready reference help is available at no cost. However, because of time and budgetary
restraints, requests that require more time to fulfill will necessitate a charge.
Researchers requiring extensive time will be charged $20 an hour to a limit of
two hours; NHA members receive a 10% discount.
Photocopying
Policies
Photocopying, with approval, is $.25 per page. Manuscript materials
must be copied by a staff member.
