Festival of Wreaths 2009 was a big success

Now a Nantucket tradition, the annual Festival of Wreaths and its Preview Party mark the start of Nantucket’s winter holiday season. Held over Thanksgiving weekend, the festival welcomes more than 1,600 visitors, free of charge, to enjoy more than eighty beautifully decorated wreaths in the Whaling Museum’s Peter Foulger Gallery. 

The event showcases the remarkable talent of local artists, artisans, schoolchildren, merchants, and nonprofits that decorate and donate the wreaths, which are displayed as part of the silent auction. Throughout the festival, visitors bid on the wreaths and purchase tickets for the Raffle Wreath. Proceeds from the silent auction and raffle help support the NHA’s educational programs.
