Panel Lampshades with Deanna Van Schagen

Make a truly custom lampshade using historical photos and documents from the NHA collections, your favorite photos, fabrics or papers.  The shade will be trimmed with accent colors to frame your work.  A good selection of papers and fabrics frames and trims are provided.

NOTE: Photos you bring must be large enough to allow for cropping, usually six to eight inches in height, and on photo paper. You may also use computer-generated photos, but be sure to bring several photos so you will have choices

Deanna Van Schagen studied color and design with Pat Lambert at the Parsons School of Design in New York City. She has been designing and creating oriental rugs since the early 1970s and has worked in custom-designed, cut-and-pierced lampshades for many years. She currently teaches at the Handicraft Club in Providence, Rhode Island.
