The NHA reserves the right to cancel any class due to low enrollment or instructor emergency and will automatically provide refunds for these. Otherwise, payments for class registrations are non-refundable. Travel and accommodation expenses are the sole responsibility of the enrollee.

Make a pair of uniquely designed cake plates to use for special treats or a foundation for a table centerpiece.

Use historical imagery, text, and or whimsy imagery to compose your pieces that will then be fired in a kiln, making them food and dishwasher safe.

Mary Emery Lacoursiere graduated from Pratt Institute with an M.F.A. in printmaking and painting. She had a studio in New York City for fifteen years, specializing in hand-painted sisal rugs, murals, and restoring historical painting. A member of the Historical Society of Early American Decoration since 1978, Mary has been a contributing artist for Lifetime Television and Hearst Entertainment and currently owns and operates Emery Design here on Nantucket. She is also the director of Education at the Nantucket Historical Association.

The Nantucket Historical Association preserves and interprets the history of Nantucket through its programs, collections, and properties, in order to promote the island’s significance and foster an appreciation of it among all audiences.
