Explore one of Nantucket’s most familiar and recognized folk arts. Design a traditional scrimshaw pendant with monogram and imagery while learning the “blackwork” method used aboard whaling ships.
Using authentic materials, participants will create a disc that will be a beautiful necklace for you or someone special! You will have a choice of images designed by Lee Papale. Discs will be ready to use as a pendant.
If you would like it as an ornament, keychain, or Valentine center, please specify before the workshop.
Maximum class size: 10
