
Seashell Flowers and their construction is the foundation to sailors’ valentines and shell projects. This is an excellent opportunity to improve your shell-art skills. Learn how to build flowers and new decorative combinations to use as an arrangement in all your projects.
Sandi will have flowers that will add texture and interest to your work. Materials will include new shells, glue, and shadowbox. Open studio will be available until 3 pm each day. Bring your lunch!

Sandi Blanda felt an immediate connection when she saw her first sailors valentines in 1983. She is inspired by antique pieces but focuses on creating original one-of-a-kind designs. In addition she shares her love of the art through teaching and speaking engagements. Sandi’s valentines are part of permanent collections in the Cahoon Museum of American Art in Cotuit, MA and the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum in Sanibel, FL. Her work is featured in Sailors Valentines Their Journey Through Time (2006), Women and the Sea (2009), and Under Glass A Victorian Obsession (2013). Sandi is listed in Who’s Who in America.
