Christina Rose Manca

Christina Rose Manca owns and operates The Nantucket Weaving Studio. With a degree in interior design from Parsons School of Design, she ran Drawing Board Design, Inc. in Manhattan for 25 years. Her specialties included set decoration for film and TV; hosting design shows on TLC, WE, & HGTV; and producing TV shows in Scotland for STV, Lion Television & The BBC. Having washed ashore on Nantucket in 2016 she immersed herself in the history and traditions of the island, and founded The Nantucket Weaving Studio. As head weaver and designer, she brings a modern aesthetic to the centuries old tradition of Nantucket lightship baskets.

She sits on the board of The Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce, is an officer in the Coast Guard Auxiliary’s Nantucket Flotilla, and is an active member of the Artists Association of Nantucket. She has a passion for creating beautiful one-of-a-kind
Friendship Purses, and weaving joy into each and every day.

The Nantucket Historical Association preserves and interprets the history of Nantucket through its programs, collections, and properties, in order to promote the island’s significance and foster an appreciation of it among all audiences.
