High School Internships

The Nantucket Historical Association aims to provide meaningful educational opportunities for the entire Nantucket community and beyond. Our island presents unique challenges and opportunities in which to learn from the past, while seeking solutions to contemporary issues.

Moving into its fourth year, the objective of our High School Internship Program remains consistent, providing meaningful professional and educational experiences for local students here at the NHA. Our unprecedented times have created both challenges and opportunities to address student and community needs.

This is a paid internship opportunity that gives students experience in areas that will assist as they prepare for college and career.  During these sessions we will work with professionals in several specific areas that will be essential no matter what path you choose in the future.   These skills will be put into action by working with the team to create a group exhibit that will highlight issues the Nantucket community is facing today. The exhibit will be on view in the museum and online late Fall/Winter of 2020-21.

Eligibility

The High School Internship Program is open to all Nantucket students in the 9-12th grade level.  Students must be in good academic standing.
