The Nantucket Historical Association (NHA) and the Antiques Council are pleased to announce a collaboration that aligns the NHA’s major summer fundraiser, Nantucket by Design (NBD), with the Nantucket Summer Antiques Show in August 2019. The Antiques Show’s opening night preview party will benefit the NHA as a principal fundraising event.
“As an historical association, the NHA believes that antiques play an important role in adding texture and context to the interiors of Nantucket homes, so we are delighted to be partnering with the Nantucket Summer Antiques show to incorporate a fun event for discovering treasures into our schedule for Nantucket By Design,” says Kelly Williams, NHA President of the Board of Trustees.
According to Marty Shapiro, President of the Antiques Council, “we are pleased to be once again partnering with the NHA on an exciting preview of the Nantucket Summer Antiques Show.”
Phoebe Tudor, NBD Chair, notes: “We are delighted that the Antiques Council will stage their annual show on the weekend of Nantucket by Design 2019. The NHA appreciates history and the role it plays in people’s lives today. Attendees of Nantucket by Design will have the chance to see beautiful antiques and learn how they can be used in designs from any era. It will be a terrific addition to the activities we have planned for NBD 2019.”
The Nantucket Summer Antiques Show offers visitors the opportunity to view and purchase the finest antiques in many categories presented by dealers who are experts in their fields. Additionally there will be a number of special events taking place at the show all in support of local island charities.
