NHA hires David Martin as Chief of Business Development

The Nantucket Historical Association (NHA) is pleased to announce the appointment of David Martin as its Chief of Business Development.

Martin’s previous position was as president and CEO of the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce. “The Chamber has taken a new and exciting role as the leader and face of business, tourism, learning and economic development on the Island”, said Martin. “The NHA position is the next chapter of my life on Nantucket and I am extremely grateful to be maintaining so many of the relationships I have developed over the past few years.”

An internal reorganization in 2019 identified the need for this position. In this newly conceived role of Chief of Business Development, Martin will focus on growing the NHA’s earned income initiatives, including oversight of existing and development of new revenue models.

“We are very excited that David will join the NHA as our Chief of Business Development.  He brings great strengths to the table that will create conditions to allow the organization to grow. During the interview process, we were greatly impressed by his accomplishments at the Chamber”, says James Russell, NHA Gosnell Executive Director.

The Nantucket Historical Association preserves and interprets the history of Nantucket through its programs, collections, and properties, in order to promote the island’s significance and foster an appreciation of it among all audiences.
