NANTUCKET, MA – The Nantucket Historical Association (NHA) will host its 126th Annual Meeting virtually via Zoom on Friday, July 10th at 5pm for members. Kelly Williams steps down as President of the NHA Board of Trustees in August and Calvin “Chip” Carver will assume the Presidency. Williams served three years with major accomplishments that include 1) growing partnerships with on and off island institutions, 2) strengthening the brand of the NHA by spearheading the involvement with The Winter Show in New York City in 2019 and Nantucket by Design in 2020, and 3) creating a welcoming campus by opening more of the NHA’s core properties to the public and constructing a new fine arts gallery in the Folger Building.
The meeting will welcome incoming trustees for the Class of 2024 including Lucinda Ballard, John Flannery, Ashley Gosnell, Judith Ivey, and Valerie Paley. Outgoing trustees Anne Marie Bratton, Kennedy Richardson, and Phoebe Tudor are thanked for their commitment during their eight year terms.
Patricia and Thomas Anathan will be honored for their participation in the Heritage Society. In 2020, two staff members announced their retirement. Cris Merck and Manny Silva, will be honored for their respective 18 and 14 years of service to the organization.
