NHA names David D. Worth as Interim Executive Director

NANTUCKET, MA – The Nantucket Historical Association (NHA) Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that David D. Worth will be the organization’s Interim Executive Director, effective immediately.

Worth is a retired senior executive with over thirty-five years of management experience. He most recently led the $100MM Global Services Advisory practice at ARCADIS NV, a $4 billion global technical consulting company from which he retired.

“We are extremely fortunate to have someone with David’s experience and expertise as our Interim Executive Director,” says Janet Sherlund, NHA Board of Trustees President. “In addition to David’s tremendous professional skill, he is a lifelong member of the community.”

Worth has stepped down from his position on the Executive Committee of the NHA Board of Trustees to serve as the Interim Executive Director.

Worth grew up on Nantucket, returning every summer with his family before retiring to the island in 2013. He is a direct descendent of William Worth, who settled on Nantucket in 1662 and married Sarah Macy, the daughter of Thomas Macy. Worth and his wife Leslie Forbes have two sons, Dana and Tristram.

David is currently the president of the Residences at Sherburne Commons, Inc., a not-for-profit founded in 2015 to purchase Nantucket’s only senior living community out of bankruptcy and restore it to fiscal and operational health and he currently serves as Chairman of the Town of Nantucket’s Finance Committee.

The Nantucket Historical Association preserves and interprets the history of Nantucket through its programs, collections, and properties, in order to promote the island’s significance and foster an appreciation of it among all audiences.
