NHA Welcomes Susan K. Coffin as Director of Development

NANTUCKET, MA – The Nantucket Historical Association (NHA) is pleased to announce that Susan K. Coffin has been named Director of Development.

Coffin will lead the organization’s fundraising efforts to help ensure a vibrant and dynamic future, through private and public sources, ensuring NHA remains a forward-thinking organization. Additionally she will work closely with the executive director, serving as a member of the senior management team.

“Returning now to an historic association feels very natural and exciting,” says Coffin. “The mission of the NHA resonates deeply with me and I am excited to move to this place of beauty and join this special community.”

Susan is an accomplished development professional with over twenty years of experience with major gifts, donor cultivation and stewardship, capital campaigns, annual and planned giving, prospect and volunteer management, communications, and special events. She has proven strength in building and managing strategic relationships and leading staff and volunteers to meet organizational fundraising goals. Susan’s experience has included a variety of fundraising initiatives for non-profit organizations in the Boston metro area including development roles at the Wenham Museum and Historical Association, Director of Development and External Relations at Pingree School, Senior Development Officer at Beverly Hospital and Lahey Health, and most recently as Director of Development at Rockport Music in Rockport, Massachusetts.

The Nantucket Historical Association preserves and interprets the history of Nantucket through its programs, collections, and properties, in order to promote the island’s significance and foster an appreciation of it among all audiences.
