Museum After Dark Party Returns Saturday,
July 23

NANTUCKET, MA – The Nantucket Historical Association (NHA) announces the return of Museum After Dark, a unique event that brings together the next generation of supporters in a one-of-a-kind museum setting for a night of celebration to benefit the NHA on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 8 P.M at the Whaling Museum, 13 Broad Street.

This late-night event marries the character and backdrop of the Whaling Museum with the festive spirit of a sparkling summer bash, all accented by unparalleled views of Nantucket harbor from the museum’s rooftop observation deck, Tucker’s Roofwalk.

Revelers will dance the night away to the exceptional DJ skills of Pete Ahern of Audio Architechs and enjoy delicious cocktails and food in the great hall of the Whaling Museum.

Chaired by Boston-based realtor and Nantucket Sole footwear founder Marla Sanford, the NHA’s Museum After Dark event will promote and raise funds for the organization’s year-round community education and preservation efforts. The Museum After Dark committee is comprised of Sean Dew, Amy Guidi, Lauren Marttila, Jennifer Shalley, and Isaiah Truyman.

The Nantucket Historical Association is the heart and soul of Nantucket,” says Marla Sanford, Museum After Dark chair. “Its mission is to tell the inspiring stories of Nantucket and sharing them with the community so that we can all be enriched by its history. These stories have inspired best-sellers, plays, and films, and are the true foundation of everything we are fortunate to enjoy on the island today. The funds we raise will go towards helping the NHA offer educational programs for all ages and continue to preserve and present its collections and properties.”

This event also showcases a group of community-minded business sponsors and partners under the moniker ackMADcollabs, all of whom wish to support the NHA’s community efforts and raise funds for a great cause. These collaborators include Annie & the Tees, Audio Architechs, David M. Handy Events, Follain, Grey Lady Gardens, the Handlebar Café, Kingdom County Productions, Motto, Nantucket Snapbooth, Nantucket Sole, and Shift.
