NHA Hours for Spring/Summer 2017

NANTUCKET, MA – The Nantucket Historical Association (NHA) is pleased to announce its official schedule and hours for the spring and summer 2017 season.

Currently closed for winter maintenance, the NHA’s flagship Whaling Museum at 13 Broad Street will reopen to visitors on Saturday, February 11, 2017. From February 11 through April 2, 2017, the museum will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M.

Beginning Saturday, April 8, 2017, through Friday, May 26, 2017, the museum will be open daily from 11 A.M. to 4 P.M.

Summer-season hours begin on Saturday, May 27, 2017, and are in effect until Friday, October 29, 2017, when the museum will be open from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. daily. The Whaling Museum will continue to offer its daily programming such as the Whale Hunt presentation, the Essex Gam, and twice daily showings of the signature film Nantucket by Ric Burns.

Visitors will once again have the convenience of using the All-Access Pass admission ticket in 2017. This pass makes visiting the Whaling Museum and historic sites easier than ever. The NHA All-Access Pass is good for one visit to each of our sites in 2017, including: the Whaling Museum, Old Mill, Oldest House, Old Gaol, Greater Light, and Fire Hose Cart House.

The NHA All-Access Pass allows for multiple re-entries to the Whaling Museum during the course of one day. For example, visitors can start with a morning viewing of the Nantucket film at the Whaling Museum, leave the museum for a bite to eat at a favorite downtown restaurant, and then return in the afternoon for a gallery tour or a trip to the rooftop deck— all on the same ticket.

Prices for the NHA All-Access Pass are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors 65+, $18 for students, $5 for youth (ages 6-17), and children under 6 are free.

“We take visitor experience to heart, continuously thinking of ways to enhance our guests’ interactions with the NHA and our offerings,” says Marjan Shirzad, NHA Director or Visitor Experience. “An easy-to-use All-Access Pass and a streamlined 2017 museum and historic site schedule offer visitors increased flexibility and plenty of opportunities to learn about Nantucket’s rich history. We hear lots of great feedback from our visitors, telling us how much they enjoy the ‘come and go’ all-day-long feature of our tickets.”
