Guide to the Elder Voices Oral History Collection, 2013–2015

This is a finding aid. It is a description of archival material held in the Research Library at the Nantucket Historical Association. Unless otherwise noted, the materials described below are physically available in our reading room, and not digitally available through the internet.

Summary

The Elder Voices Oral History Collection was largely conducted by Obed Macy Research Chair Betsy Tyler during her time as Library Director at the Nantucket Historical Association. The goal of these interviews was to both develop an ongoing collection effort and to continually document the reminiscences of Nantucket elders. The collection consists of 12 audio interviews exploring the life histories of notable and longstanding Nantucketers, with a focus on their particular areas of expertise.
