Biographical Information
Frank Chester Adams Sr. (1898-1979) was born on April 24, 1898, in New Hampshire, and died in New Hampshire in May 1979 at the age of 81. He married Dorothy Elizabeth Robinson in 1926, and they had two sons, Frank Chester Jr. and Paul.
Scope and Content
The Chester Adams letters contain 8 letters and 1 postcard from F. Chester Adams to his mother, Mrs. W.E. Adams in Pittsfield, New Hampshire. They are written during F. Chester Adams’s employment at the Sea Cliff Inn in Nantucket, Mass., in 1917. Some letters include enclosures as follows: a pamphlet from the First Congregational Church, a luncheon menu from the Sea Cliff Inn, a program for the Sea Cliff Inn Orchestra, a pamphlet on Nantucket Island from the Publicity Committee, Nantucket Island, Mass., and a photograph of two young men labeled Shaloo and Joyce. Postcard pictures the court at the Sea Cliff Inn.
