Guide to the Relief Society Records, 1858–1872

The Nantucket Relief Society was a mid-nineteenth-century charitable organization that provided financial assistance to Nantucket families.

Scope and Content

This collection contains the secretary’s book from the Nantucket Relief Society. The book includes meeting minutes, reports, and names of members. The bulk of the book is a record of Nantucketers’ deaths from 1819 to 1872 including names, family members, ages, and the cause of death for some.
