Biographical Information

These interviews were conducted as part of a project that took place in the spring of 2011 as part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Voices from the Fisheries national project. The NOAA Voices from the Fisheries project contained oral histories pertaining to commercial, recreational, and subsistence fishing in the United States.

Scope and Content

The Voices from the Fisheries collection consists of six discs with interviews of Nantucket sailors. The interviews were conducted by students at the Nantucket Lighthouse Middle School in 2011 with the help of Georgen Charnes.
