Whaling Museum Audio Tour now available in Spanish

NANTUCKET, MA – The Nantucket Historical Association (NHA) is pleased to announce the Whaling Museum Audio Tour is now available in Spanish. The NHA is pleased to offer this enhancement to Spanish speaking visitors and members of the community. The Whaling Museum is free of charge to the Year-Round community.

The Spanish audio tour is easy to access using your own device by going to nha.org or by using the QR code displayed in the museum. There are 25 stops throughout the museum ranging from the island’s earliest inhabitants, through the whaling era, Nantucket connections to the greater world, and on to the transformation to the resort community of today.

The NHA staff wish to acknowledge those who assisted in making the Spanish audio tour available. Peggi Godwin, co-manager of NHA Visitor Services, developed the content. Translation from English to Spanish was done by NHA Senior Interpreter, Miranda Dale, with assistance from Nantucket High School student and former NHA student intern, Dayner Javier. Evelyn MacEachern, Nantucket Public School teacher, graciously volunteered her time to fact check the translation and to record the tour. Floyd Kellogg at the Nantucket Community Music Center dedicated considerable time recording and editing the tour. Novation Media created the online presentation.

The Nantucket Historical Association preserves and interprets the history of Nantucket through its programs, collections, and properties, in order to promote the island’s significance and foster an appreciation of it among all audiences.
