Sitting Room

“One remark is always uppermost: ‘How could you have built this so long ago? Why, it was not stylish then.’ My answer is, ‘I did not plan it. Divine Mind knows.'”

Hanna Monaghan

The Monaghan’s designed a small peaceful sitting room, behind the fireplace wall, incorporating beautiful leaded windows and French doors in place of the old wide barn doors that once accommodated the entry of carts and the animals that were stabled on this floor.  In this new design, a third bedroom on an upper floor, the former hayloft, was accessible from this room via a curved staircase.
