Book Signing with Everett Crosby

Join author Everett Crosby for a signing of his popular book, The Making of Nantucket, Family Lives and Fortunes in the Nineteenth Century.

The book signing will be held in the NHA Museum Shop.

Meticulously researched, and written from a fresh perspective, The Making of Nantucket belongs on the bookshelf of every Nantucket resident and, indeed, of anyone who wants to learn more about how this small island community found the resources to fashion a fortune from the sea, and then, having lost it, was able to reinvent itself as a prosperous summer resort.

Author, Everett U. Crosby is Emeritus Professor of History and Chairman of the Medieval Studies Program at the University of Virginia. Born in Philadelphia, he was educated at the Germantown Friends School, Yale University (B.A. in history) and the Johns Hopkins University (Ph.D).

The Nantucket Historical Association preserves and interprets the history of Nantucket through its programs, collections, and properties, in order to promote the island’s significance and foster an appreciation of it among all audiences.
