Drawn to Whales with Don Sineti, Wednesday

Join the NHA and award-winning illustrator Don Sineti as he uses art and music to teach children of all ages about whales and how to draw them.

Admission is free for members or included in a museum admission.

Don Sineti, from Bloomfield, Connecticut, began doing artwork of Cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises) after returning from Vietnam in 1968 where he served with the 199th Infantry Brigade.

He is co-founder and past president of the Cetacean Society International. He has illustrated five major publications about cetaceans and has had two shows at the United Nations. He has thirty pieces on permanent display at Hale Kohola (House of the Whale) Museum in Maui, Hawaii. His desire is for the art to have the “look and feel” of traditional sailor art but with anatomically correct cetaceans.

As a chanteyman, Don has recorded two CDs and performed around the world. He is on staff at Mystic Seaport.

The Nantucket Historical Association preserves and interprets the history of Nantucket through its programs, collections, and properties, in order to promote the island’s significance and foster an appreciation of it among all audiences.
