This season the NHA’s Thomas Macy Warehouse, at 12 Straight Wharf, will host a special FREE exhibition for the Envision Resilience Nantucket Challenge, exploring the impact of climate change on Nantucket, in partnership with ReMain Nantucket.


Cecil Barron Jensen has been the executive director of ReMain Nantucket and ReMain Ventures since 2018. She moved to Nantucket in 1996 and has had a career in nonprofit management, strategic planning, fundraising, public relations, and community development, working for some of the Island’s preeminent nonprofits. She was previously the publications and public relations manager at the Nantucket Historical Association, director of development at the Nantucket New School, and the Executive Director of the Artists Association of Nantucket.

In addition to her experience leading dynamic organizations, Cecil has a deep understanding of how cultural and educational organizations contribute to the vitality of downtown Nantucket and the experience to drive ReMain’s mission forward to advance its economic, social, and environmental priorities.

Over the past two years, Cecil has led ReMain Nantucket and ReMain Ventures to increasingly focus on issues of sustainability and innovation, including projects addressing coastal resilience and managing the Island’s natural resources.

A past board member of several Nantucket nonprofits, Cecil is a member of the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

 

The Nantucket Historical Association preserves and interprets the history of Nantucket through its programs, collections, and properties, in order to promote the island’s significance and foster an appreciation of it among all audiences.
