Join us for a Food for Thought lecture by Mary Bergman from Preservation Trust and Colin Evans of Preservation Restoration about Uncovering the History of a House, Inside and Out.

Colin Evans, of Colin Evans Preservation and Restoration, LLC. has a wide range of experience in the building trades. Based year-round on Nantucket, Colin has developed expertise in lime masonry and plastering, relining flues and repairing historic chimneys, foundation repair and underpinning, and supporting and stabilizing structures. Colin has experience working with subcontractors to assess ways in which their work can be minimally disruptive to historic structures, and enjoys educating homeowners on how to best care for historic buildings.

Mary Bergman is the Executive Director of the Nantucket Preservation Trust. A writer and historian, Mary has long been fascinated by Nantucket’s built environment. She works to uncover the stories of the people who built and lived in the island’s historic homes and to protect our historic structures, streetscapes, and sense of place.
