Member Evening: Island People and Cape Verde in Our Soul

Join us for a special tour of the new exhibition, Island People: Portraits and Stories of Nantucket and Cape Verde in Our Soul.

Island People: Portraits and Stories from Nantucket

Drawing from the NHA’s permanent collection of painted, photographic, and silhouette portraits to tell stories of famous and lesser known Nantucketers whose stories represent aspects of the island’s history. The Spirits Within Us media program, focused on extraordinary island woman, is being carried over as part of this exhibit

Cape Verde in Our Soul

Expanding upon our 2021 display, Shoulder on Which We Stand, which explored the Cape Verde–Nantucket connection. This year’s presentation will feature historic photos, mementos, and a mini-theater presenting short films based on recently conducted oral histories from Nantucket’s Cape Verde community.

Please RSVP by calling (508) 228-1894 ext. 122 or emailing membership@nha.org.
