Member Exhibition Opening: Whaling Museum

Join the NHA for the Member Exhibition Opening of the new exhibitions on display at the Whaling Museum, including:

Asian Treasures from The Billings Collection
Sampling seven thousand years of art history in Asia, drawing from the world-class collection of island residents David Billings and Beverly Hall to present more than two hundred examples of fine ceramics, bronzes, textiles, and more from China, Japan, Korea, India, and Tibet.
Island People: Portraits and Stories from Nantucket

Drawing from the NHA’s permanent collection of painted, photographic, and silhouette portraits to tell stories of famous and lesser known Nantucketers whose stories represent aspects of the island’s history. The Spirits Within Us media program, focused on extraordinary island woman, is being carried over as part of this exhibit.

The Robert and Nina Hellman Collection

These new displays contrast the harpoons and lances of 19th-century whalers with the vastly more destructive 20th-century innovations devastated world whale populations, in Gosnell Hall and the Candle Factory.

Refreshments and light bites will be served.

Please RSVP by calling (508) 228-1894 ext 122 or emailing
