Nantucket a Film by Ric BurnsNantucket chronicles the vibrancy of Nantucket’s history, from its Native American origins as a Wampanoag outpost, through the English settlement and early Quaker culture, to its international significance as the whaling capital of the world, and eventual transformation to summer resort and art colony.

The Nantucket Historical Association preserves and interprets the history of Nantucket through its programs, collections, and properties, in order to promote the island’s significance and foster an appreciation of it among all audiences.
