Michael P. Dyer, Curator of History at New Bedford Whaling Museum and author of “O’er the wide and tractless sea”: Original Art of the Yankee Whale Hunt discusses the paintings and drawings found in log books, journals and manuscripts of America’s nineteenth century whaling heritage. Dyer highlights specific pieces of artwork and brings them together in the context of American maritime culture.
