The Hunt LIVE!

Mix up your favorite cocktail or mock tail and enjoy a story that has been told since the 1930s, when retired whaling captain George Grant became the first “custodian”  of the Whaling Museum and shared his first-hand whaling experiences with museum visitors. That began a long-standing tradition of telling this same story, passed down to each new generation of museum interpreters. This 2020 version of The Hunt has been updated to tell the story of a whaling voyage aboard the whaleship Edward Cary 1854-58.

The 20-minute presentation will be followed by 10 minutes of Q&A and comments.

The Nantucket Historical Association preserves and interprets the history of Nantucket through its programs, collections, and properties, in order to promote the island’s significance and foster an appreciation of it among all audiences.
